Tresco (Cornish: Enys Skaw, meaning "island of elder-trees”)
Tresco is the second largest of the Scilly Islands and a subtropical gem. Legend has it that King Arthur was buried here, on the site of his final battle with Mordred in the 6th Century in the mythical land of Lyonesse.
From visitislesofscilly.com: This island has a little bit of everything – from dramatic rocky outcrops, bronze age burial sites and romantic castle ruins, to secluded sandy beaches and, of course, the world famous Tresco Abbey Garden which was established in the 1830s by Augustus Smith. This horticultural paradise hosts a spectacular collection of more than 20,000 exotic plants from all corners of the world – many of which cannot be grown anywhere else in Britain. The Valhalla collection within the Garden is equally impressive with its colourful display of figureheads salvaged from the islands’ shipwrecks.
It is the only one of the islands to be privately-owned; it is currently cared for by Lucy and Robert Dorrien-Smith, who run the estate as a fabulous holiday destination.
We have been collaborating with the Tresco estate for some years now as our island style is perfect for their aesthetic. Lotty has recently designed a print with Tresco and we thought you might like a visual clue:

Those of us in the UK may well be embracing domestic holidays this year and, in that eventuality, we just hope that there is room at Tresco!
