This St Patrick's Day, celebrate with a Black Velvet cocktail. Despite widespread belief in it's Irish heritage, it was in fact devised by a London barman to mourn the death of Prince Albert in 1861.
However, using one of Ireland's most famous exports will forever link the drink with Dublin, the home of Guinness.
Simple and delicious, half fill your glass with chilled Champagne and top up with Guinness, making sure to pour carefully. Ice is not required.
Why not team this drink up with some fresh oysters and allow yourself to dream about the events you will soon be allowed to attend....
What outfit best suits Black Velvet and oysters? We think this beautiful green Sand Dollar shirtdress by Lotty B goes rather well?
Happy St Patrick's Day - Sláinte!
