The Cabana swim trade show is a regular in the Pink House Calendar. Every year in July we venture off to Miami for a week of fashion shows, delicious meals at Miami Beach's iconic art-deco hotels, and of course a lot of hard work!

It is at this event that our wholesale customers get their first glimpse of the collection for the year ahead and place their orders. It is always wonderful to see the same faces coming to visit our booth at the trade show. Our regular buyers, who over the years have become friends, all flock to Miami from small boutiques across the Caribbean and America as well as larger international clients. It is fantastic to hear their positive feedback about our designs, or any recommendations they may have for small adjustments to the fit or colour, which I then take into consideration when I design the following years' collection.

Not only did we have a great 3 days of sales, with a team headed up by Jemima and Sasha, who represented our brands to buyers, new and old, but Cabana is also a fantastic place to explore what is on offer in the world of swim and resort-wear, and to do some buying of other brands for The Pink House Boutique. This year there were definitely some exciting new discoveries, which I hope you will get the chance to see next Christmas holidays in the Pink House!

And after a full day's work, we could finally hit the town! Evenings were spent having a well-deserved cocktail on hotel rooftops, exploring the street art in the Wynwood district or the fantastic exhibitions at the BASS Museum, attending fashion shows and, of course, salsa-ing our way through bars in Little Havana!

After a busy week in Miami Beach I was definitely ready for a return to the peace and quiet of Mustique, and our rather more deserted beaches! And, of course back to the office for all of the follow up work…
